Fasting hacks that work.
Any research into the Ketogenic Lifestyle will tell you to incorporate fasting into your routine. There are many different fasts that you can do but the most popular on the Ketogenic Lifestyle is what’s called “intermittent fasting”. Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of fasting and periods of eating, usually 16hrs fasting with an 8hr eating window.
For someone who’s used to eating the typical 3-4 meals a day, it seems impossible to go 16hrs without eating but it’s really a lot easier than you think.
Start by picking a fasting window that works for YOUR schedule. If you’re an early riser or a late sleeper, adjust your fasting window accordingly.
Sleeping IS fasting. Make sure your fasting window includes your sleeping hours. If you typically get 8hrs sleep each night, you’re already half way to your goal.
Coffee curbs your cravings. Fast for as long as you can and when you feel like you can’t go another minute without eating, drink a cup of coffee or tea, wait 10-15mins then reassess your hunger. That usually does the trick and can give you a few more hours before you need to eat.
